Privacy Policy

Family Recipe Box ("the app") is made by Sand Point Studios LLC ("we", "us"). This policy describes what data the app collects and how it is used.

What we collect

• Account information. You sign in with Google. We receive and store your email address and name to create your account. We never see your Google password.
• Your content. Recipes you enter, photos of recipe cards and meals you upload, tags, collections, meal logs, and shopping lists. This content is stored on our servers so it syncs across your devices and (only if you choose) with family members you invite.
• Usage data. Basic operational logs (e.g., feature usage counts, errors) used to run and improve the service.

How AI processing works

When you scan a card, import a recipe, or request an AI photo description, the relevant image or text is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to be transcribed or analyzed, and the result is returned to your library. Under the API terms we use, this data is not used to train AI models. Images and text are processed to provide the feature you requested — nothing else.

What we don't do

• We do not sell or rent your data. Ever.
• We show no ads and use no advertising trackers.
• We do not share your recipes with anyone unless you explicitly invite them or create a share link.

Sharing you control

Recipes and libraries are private by default. Sharing happens only when you invite someone by email, grant library access, or create a public link — and you can revoke access at any time in the app.

Storage and security

Content is stored on servers we operate (United States). Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS). Authentication is handled by Google sign-in via our auth provider; we store no passwords.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. We receive subscription status but never your payment details.

Data retention and deletion

Your content is retained while your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, use the delete option in the app's settings or email support@familyrecipebox.app — we will delete your data within 30 days.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will note it in the app and update the date above.
